The Commerce Department has posted a new web page to its site that will keep track of the categories subject to import monitoring from Vietnam. The web page can be found at the following link: http://ia.ita.doc.gov/download/vietnam-textile-monitoring/vtm-index.html.
Once inside the page, you must click on “Monitored Import Data”. This will take you to the five general classes of merchandise subject to the monitoring. You can then click on the individual class of merchandise which will then take you to the specific categories that are subject to the monitoring. You can further click on each category to see each 10-digit HTS number applicable to that category.
The categories listed in the web page are the categories that are subject to the export license requirement that will go into effect for goods exported from Vietnam on or after March 15, 2007. Please be advised that the products and categories covered by the web page are subject to change and may be modified based on the trade statistics gathered as a result of the monitoring.
